Musashi, the old name of Saitama area , has many naturalized citizens from Korean Peninsula.

The production of paper was widespread in this area.

Then it is said that people of Ogawa began to make this products.

Harsh winter cold and chilly water helps craftsmen make good quality paper.

From the early morning until late at night, they work hard, singing songs called Kamisuki-uta.

These days We rarely hear these songs .

However, people tend to favor the warmth of handmade crafts.

Ogawa Town Government has promoted traditional products, establishing Saitama Craft Center and Handmade Experiencing Center.
