The foundation of Ogawa


　Ogawa-machi, Okawa-mura, Takezawa-mura and Yawata-mura,  merged to form a new Ogawa-machi on February 11, 1955.

And after that it incorporated parts of Yorii-machi into it in 1956 , so it has become  present ogawa-machi. Ogawa is in western central of Saitama and covers as area of  60.45 square meters in area.


The beautiful foothills of Chichibu surround our town, and the Tsuki-River flows through it .

It has become famous for traditional industries such as handmade Japanese paper, silk, construction materials for Japanese house and Japanese sake.


Ogawa has often been called the mini Kyoto , for its historic spots and its appearance.
